A small cavity can easily be restored, preventing it from becoming larger. The longer you wait, the more extensive the damage to the tooth may be. When a cavity or other damage is too extensive and the tooth structure significantly weakened, extraction may be recommended. The missing tooth can be replaced with a dental implant, which will feel and function more like a healthy, natural tooth, than any other tooth replacement option available today.
Same Day Crowns
In most cases, the restoration is fabricated in-house, using a computerized milling machine. It is made of high quality porcelain, precision sculpted for a perfect fit. The result is a natural-looking, long-lasting restoration - typically placed in less than two hours. If care for properly, an only can last up to 30 years. Dr. Munar and his team are dedicated to your health and well being.
We will always recommend the most conservative option possible, while achieving maximum strength and longevity of the restoration. Our office simply does not recommend placing crowns routinely. What does that mean for you? LESS DRILLING!! Less drilling means less trauma, and less trauma means a much healthier, conservative option for you.
We use only the highest quality materials and precision techniques for fabrication of restorations. Simply said, our materials are excellent - second only to healthy, natural tooth structure. Therefore, it is always best to retain as much healthy structure as possible, only replacing what is missing or damaged.
The modern, conservative restoration of choice is an onlay. Onlays (also called partial crowns) are durable and generally last longer than fillings, but are more conservative than crowns. We do not have to reshape an entire tooth as is required for placement of crowns. Instead, for inlays, we only remove the damaged portion, and shape the porcelain to fit the tooth.
